Household Transformation Model
Heifer developed a holistic tool to measure its interventions alleviating vulnerable households out of poverty. It calculates various aspects of the household (income, gender equity, food security, social capital and environmental stewardship) to ensure their resilience and avoid them from slipping back into poverty in the future. Business Transformation Model
Heifer developed a holistic tool to measure the economic sustainability of Farmer Owned Agricultural Businesses (FOABs). It combines different assessment in order to measure several elements: administration and internal management, strong and sustainable relationships, financial management, effective business operations and environmental stewardship and management. The tool allows Heifer to benchmark the level of an FOAB and compare that level of maturity within a project. Supporting vulnerable populations achieving living income, supporting FOABs to reach economic sustainability is an essential piece to a healthy ecosystem where farmers thrive.
